About Icon of the Seas
Icon of the Seas is Royal Caribbean International's flagship vessel and the lead ship of the Icon class, entering service in January 2024. Built by Meyer Turku in Finland at a cost of €1.86 billion, this remarkable ship represents the pinnacle of modern cruise engineering. At 248,663 gross tonnes and stretching 365 metres in length across 20 decks, Icon of the Seas is one of the world's largest cruise ships. She can accommodate up to 5,610 passengers in double occupancy, with maximum capacity reaching 7,600 guests, supported by a crew of 2,350. The ship was laid down in April 2022, launched in December 2022, and christened by football legend Lionel Messi in January 2024. Her maiden voyage commenced on 27 January 2024, marking a new era in cruise ship design and luxury. Operating from Nassau in the Bahamas, Icon of the Seas sets new standards for passenger capacity and onboard amenities in the cruise industry.
